I’m Elaine Anderson, a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with over twenty-five years of experience. I am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
For over a decade I worked as a relate counsellor focussing on domestic violence and sexual trauma as well as working for a local young offending prison and running my private practice. I began solely working as a sexual trauma counsellor with victims and offenders – and now also support other trainee or qualified counsellors as a clinical supervisor.
My specialist interest is trauma and the real impact on the human psychology of the person, both body and mind.
I’m always seeking out ways to enhance my own professional development and learning. I’m studying herbalism and undertaking a Diploma in Sexology to add to my couples counselling practice. My interest and practice of holistic therapies either as a stand-alone or combined with psychotherapy encourages absolute self-care with my clients by offering a deeper layer of understanding themselves better.
It’s an absolute privilege, and honour to work with such an array of people and apply my experience and knowledge of psychoeducation and healing to make such a difference to so many lives. For clients to self-heal and self-administer the skills and tools in other areas of their lives facilitates a more peaceful way of being with wider fulfilment.
